This course focuses on advanced concepts and knowledge for nurse practitioner primary care management of designated acute, chronic and complex health problems of individuals and families across the lifespan. Prerequisite: Consent of instructor. Application of the nursing process with emphasis on critical thinking, therapeutic nursing interventions, and effective communication for persons experiencing medical-surgical problems. 3 Hours. Course activities will focus on development of teamwork, communication skills, effective decision making and reflective practice.
